A Hundred Days To Go

Hey Everyone

This Thursday, the 17th of June, plays host to the 100 day countdown celebration for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The new Alltech Games microsite on www.alltechfeigames.com Here you can explore an interactive model of the Alltech Experience Pavilion, and learn about the tastes, sights and sounds of the Alltech FEI WEG.

This week I had the pleasure of visiting Alltech’s European Bioscience in Dunboyne, Co. Meath. They are the title sponsor of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky this September.

They are a hidden gem, as for more than 30 years Alltech has produced a range of feed ingredients that enable horses to reach their full performance potential through nutrition naturally.

My horses are fed Alltech products through Gain Horse Feeds. The company is a rapidly-growing brand in equestrian circles and has strong partnerships with feed producers around the globe. I learnt that they have over 65 official animal health and nutrition sponsors of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, and Gain Horse Feeds are the official Irish feed partner.

Knowing that the level of dedication they put into promoting and maintaining animal health is second to none, I jumped at the chance to take a look at where they operate and meet some of the people behind the Alltech brand, which was founded by Dr. Pearse Lyons.

I was brought on a tour of Alltech’s European headquarters by Christina Lombard. The level of commitment I saw first-hand there - from the team - was truly inspirational.

Throughout the pleasure of meeting staff, everyone had a word of encouragement for me as I prepare to represent Ireland at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in just over 100 days time.

That spirit of excitement and sense of pride shown by the Alltech employees is the same spirit that I hope to bring to the Alltech Games myself.

With some hard work and the same support the company has shown me over the years, I know that I can reach my full potential at this year’s Alltech Games – and maybe even bring back the gold in doing so!

However there's still a lot of work to do and with shows such as Estoril, Aachen and Dublin as my immediate targets, I'll be hoping to jump myself into a double-handed position with K Club Lady and Rancorrado.

Check back next week for more news.
