I just got out of Arezzo on Sunday in time, as I believe the heavens opened so badly that a class had to be postponed due to the heavy downpours. Later in the evening it was reported on the news that there was an earthquake in Italy with tragic consequences, so thankfully we just got out in the nick of time!
It was another good week for me at the show with Baloufina in the winner's enclosure once more, PS I Love You was 3rd in a competitive speed class and Splendor jumped double clear to finish 5th in the feature event on Friday night.
The horses will return home to Waterside now for a few weeks holiday - when I say holiday they will still be hacked out and turned out to the paddock daily so that they are kept ticking over and won't lose fitness.
I will compete at home at Coilog and Dundalk and then head back to Europe again when the season takes full flight for me, as I won't have a weekend off until late August!
